Labour Party Inaugurates New Executives In Amuwo Odofin LGA

The Labour Party has officially Inaugurated the newly elected Executives of the party in Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area of Lagos State after the collapse of all the support groups and other interest groups into one.

The event which took place on the 6th of January, 2023 in Festac Town had in attendance most of the party members and State officials who witness the swearing in of the executives that will run their party in a bid to ensure that Labour Party wins all positions in the forthcoming General election.

Deputy Director General, Lagos West of The Labour Party Campaign Council, George Emenalo while speaking on the dissolution of the old order and the formation of the new exco said,

“We have tried all we could to make sure that all interest groups are represented in our meeting here and what we did was to invite all of them through letters, through phone calls and got everybody together except those that insisted on not being part of it but they sent representatives and those representatives in agreement had a motion moved to dissolve all factional groups and elect a new exco for the Local government and we put it to vote and the house voted that a new exco should be elected for Amuwo Odofin. We did that.

“We now have a new exco which we invited the State exco to come and inaugurate”

Further reiterating the need for unity, the Chairman, Lagos State Labour Party Caretaker Committee, Oluwatoyin Shokunbi, emphasizes the essence of harmonizing all factional groups so that united the party can be victorious at the polls.

On the chances of the party in the forthcoming General elections, she said,

“Our chances are very high. This is because Lagosians are tired. We’re paying through our noses for everything. The cost of food, transportation, electricity, housing and everybody is tired of the statusquo and we want a change in Lagos State.” She concluded.

Speaking on securing victory for the Labour party in Amuwo Odofin, the newly elected chairman, Hon. Obinna Emenfo stated…

“I have been given a mandate today to deliver Amuwo Odofin in the forthcoming General elections. We have alot of strategies from market to market, house to house and everywhere in Amuwo Odofin to ensure we deliver. We’re sure that we will deliver all our candidates from the house of representatives to the Presidency.”

He concluded.
