Chief (Dr). Ernest Mark Akhikpemelo Appointed as UN International Peace Ambassador

The awardee, Ambassador (Dr.) Ernest Mark Akhikpemelo hails from Iyerekhu in South Ibie in Etsako West Local Government Area, Edo State. He is the President of The Latin American Motocycle Association, Nigeria chapter.

Just as the list of Nigerians attaining world prominence increases with the recent appointment of Dr. Ngozi OKonjo-Iweala as the Director-General of the World Trade Organisation.

Another Nigerian has been appointed as an International Peace Advocate by the United Nations POLAC-Foundation.

The latest entrance into this prestigious class is Chief(Dr.) Ernest Mark Akhikpemelo, The President of Latin American Motocycle Association, Nigeria chapter.

A copy of the letter conveying his appointment dated January 15th, 2021, and signed by the Director-General UN-POLAC Foundation, Prof. Halo B. Eton, JP, Amb. P. MyrP,  highlighted POLAC’s mandate which is aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of UN Sustainable Development Goals and UNESCO Peace project, emphasizing on the maintenance of peace and security and the restoration of human dignity.

A statement conveyed in the letter also emphasized to the recipient that “As an International Peace advocate, you can be called upon for peacemaking, conflict resolution and other activities that encourages peace and positive living in line with the best International practices”.

The induction of Ambassador (Dr.) E. M. Akhikpemelo will hold at the Lagos Airport Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos on Saturday, 4th April, 2021 by 12noon prompt.
Keynote Speaker is Prof. Isaac Olawale Albert, Professor of Peace and Conflict Studies at the Institute of Peace and Strategic Studies, University of Ibadan, while the Special Guest of Honour is Dr. Bakut T. Bakut, Director-General, Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution, Abuja.

The awardee, Ambassador (Dr.) Ernest Mark Akhikpemelo hails from Iyerekhu in South Ibie of Etsako West Local Government Area, Edo State. He had his primary education at Ikirodah primary school in Ugiekha, South Ibie while his secondary school education was at Ayogwiri Grammar School, Ayogwiri. He holds a Doctorate degree in Philosophy and Tourism from the National Open University, Abuja.

Dr. Ernest who has been a promoter of peace and tourism in Nigeria is the President of Latin America Motorcycle Association, Nigeria chapter, and has toured Africa on motorcycle. Attended several International biking rallies for Peace and tourism in the USA, Germany, Mexico, Brazil, Egypt, South Africa, Chile, Paraguay, Puerto rico, Columbia etc.

He is the CEO, First Entertainment Ideas Concept, Volga Overseas Limited as well as the MD, Javier Ponce Architects, an international consortium of architectural firms. He is also the Chief organizer, Rediscover Nigeria Heritage bikers tour.

Ambassador (Dr.) Ernest Mark Akhiphemelo is happily married to Roselyn Chioma Ahikpemelo and blessed with two children, Jephthah and Ernest Jr.
