2023: Prof. Gregory Ibe Emerges Abia State APGA Gubernatorial Candidate

The Chancellor of Gregory University, Uturu, Prof. Gregory Ibe has emerged winner of the All Progressive Grand Alliance(APGA) governorship primary elections which took place in the Abia State capital, Umuahia on the 29th May.

Prof. Ibe won the primary by a total of 283 votes to defeat his closest contender, Barr. Etigwe Uwa, who pulled a total of 148 votes.
Major Ijiomah got 36 votes, while Chief Chikwee Udensi had 12 votes.

The Abia State APGA governorship primary elections was done under close supervision of various stakeholders and conducted by the representatives of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) officials and various security agencies.

It will be recalled that the APGA gubernatorial flag bearer in Abia State, Prof. Ibe, had few months ago dumped the PDP to join the APGA after several weeks of consultations which has now offered him a platform where his dreams of governing the State and helping it out of the quagmire of successive misrule, characterized by undevelopment.
