KMA ANNIVERSARY/AWARDS, 2015

Sunday 21st June, 2015. Keeping Marriage Alive Initiative(KMA) held the second edition of her Anniversary/Awards.. celebrating Role Models and Couples with exemplary marriage. Couples who have lived together through thick and thin and have been a source of inspiration and aspiration for others.

The event which was held at the National Theatre Cinema Hall, Lagos lived up to the billing. It was attended by people from all works of life. Among whom are enterpreneurs, financial experts, young men and women etc.

The organizers and visionaries of Keeping Marriage Alive Initiative (KMA), Dr & Mrs Richard Okwonkwo simply known as Ngee & Rich who are also HABIT instructors said that the aim of the award is to celebrate outstanding role model individuals and couples who inspite of  numerous challenging conditions, have stood their ground and excelled enviably. Those people that have created conducive environment in their homes and also embraced lifestyles that have made their family exemplary leaving a legacy for the next generation.

Ngee & Rich (Founders, KEEPING MARRIAGE ALIVE INITIATIVE)

Ngee and Rich explains that KMA initiative is poised at combing everywhere through their network channel with the right information and findings to give a pat on the backs of those who put extra effort in making their relationships and families work, leaving a legacy to the next generation. Dr Uche Ogbonnaya and wife Dr(Mrs) Chidinma Ogbonnaya, both medical Doctors were awarded the BEST COUPLE.  Dr. Uche Ogbonnaya who is currently a Principal Medical Officer at Alvan Ikoku Federal University of Education, Owerri, where he has worked for five years, a devout christian with a vision to evangelize young people unto a life of integrity using powerful example of Joseph in the bible. His wife, Dr (Mrs) Chidinma Ogbonnaya works with the Medical unit of the Nigeria Immigration Service where she is currently the Chief Suprintendent of Immigration(Medicals) in one of the service training school at Orlu Imo State. She is also currently under-going a masters degree program at the university of Roehampton,London.

They got married on 20th September, 2003, and are blessed with three adorable children; Chisimdiri Adaeze (10yrs), Chukwukamso Chinua (8ys), and zinachimdinma Ifeatu (3yrs). They currently reside in Owerri, Imo State.

The Igwe twins were awarded the ROLE MODEL Award. Tobias and Titus Igwe are 27years old from Ebonyi State and CEOs of Speedmeals Mobile Kitchen. In 2009, after the sudden death of their father in an accident, they were saddled with the responsibilities to fund their studies in Unilag, and also to take care of their mum and seven younger siblings.They decided to approach life differently.

IGWE BROTHERS(Titus & Tobias Igwe) ROLE MODEL AWARD 2015, Ngee & Rich

The Igwe brothers both went and acquired skills on how to bake and cook when they could not pay up their fees in school. One of the twins dropped out from his studies at Unilag while the other deferred. They established Speedmeals mobile Kitchen, a food and services company with a mission to deliver healthy meals on time to school children and busy workers. The company has been on steady growth and has won many local and international awards including; Grand prize of Samsung West Africa Outstanding Young Enterpreneurs Awards in 2010. United Nations Sukama Africa Young Enterpreneur Awards 2011. Selected among Africa’s six brightest young minds by the Bridge Leadership Foundation in 2012, norminated by African awards for enterpreneurship  “Outstanding Small and Growing Business in Africa” and “Winner of Global Foundation Young Enterpreneurs of the year Award 2012”. The Igwe twins also  #5milion MTN business grant competition as the most outstanding young and growing business in Nigeria 2012. The President of Federal Republic of Nigeria in december 2013 honoured the Igwe twins as the Guidance of the Future ambassadors during Nigeria Centenary celebation at Aso Rock Villa, Abuja.

Thelma Chinegbo Okwara, a student of S-tee Secondary School, Festac Town was bagged the Exceptional Youngster award. Thelma, who is the 2nd child in a family of 6 has got a passion for design. She started designing from her primary school days practicing with dolls. As she grew older, She developed into making sketches, conceptualizing with various design pattern and design materials. She designs gowns, trousers, skirts and lots more.

Thelma whose parents Chief & Lolo  Daniel Okwara have been very supportive and have helped to  harness her talent and effectively channel it. She is ever grateful to them as much as she is very grateful to KMA  for recognizing her.
