KEEPING MARRIAGE ALIVE (KMA) INITIATIVE HONOURS KECHI OKWUCHI AND DINMA & NEDUM NWOBI

Kechi Okwuchi was among the prominent persons who were awarded by the Keeping Marriage Alive (KMA) Initiative during her annual anniversary award event in Lagos, Nigeria. The award event which was the 4th edition was meant to celebrate Nigerians from all walks of life that are impacting their immediate environment and beyond.

The event was held on the 1st of July,2017 at the Banquet Hall of the Sunfit, Lagos.It was attended by dignitaries of all socioeconomic status and all walks of life, among whom are entrepreneurs, award recipients, families, friends, stakeholders and well-wishers.

Shortly after the welcome speech by the founders and the vision co-ordinators, Keeping Marriage Alive (KMA) Initiative, Dr. Richard and Mrs. Ngozi Okonkwo simple called Ngee & Rich, a short drama titled “Price of Compromise” was presented by 3LF group. The message emphasiziing on the danger and consequences of keeping silent in the wake of abuse and other social abnormalities noticed in individual, family unit and the society at large.

The Ice Breaker came as Ngee gave her speech tagged “The Piece”. She spoke passionately about the worth of our views, voice, and duty to our nation Nigeria. Sighting two instances on how disunity could cause division, she left the audience awed while leaving with the message of learning not to be too focused on the piece of the national cake at the detriment of destroying the cake itself which is our country Nigeria.

The award rolled with Kechi Okwuchi awarded the Role Model Of The Year. According to the founders of Keeping Marriage Alive (KMA) Initiative, Ngee & Rich, Kechi was chosen as a recipient of the award because of her unwavering determination to make a difference against all odds, and also considering how much she has inspired millions around the world through her wonderful performance at the 2017 America’s Got Talent show.

Speaking further, the Co-founder of KMA Initiative, Ngee said,

“She’s not only talented in music, Kechi is also a star in her academics. On her way to clinching a first class , she broke several academic records in the United States where she currently resides. These are after her miraculous escape from death during the So 107 people”.

“So for us, the young woman is a role model worth celebrating and emulating”, Ngee concluded.

Kechi’s uncle, Mr. Chinedu Duru, was on hand to receive the award on behalf of Kechi Okwuchi.

Other recipients of KMA award 2017, include, Dinma & Nedum Nwobi, the founders of THE MARITAL BLISS COMMUNITY, they were honoured with the Influential Couple award.

The Close-knit family award went to the Onwudiwe’s, who excelled in the overall performance of tasks during the Family Alive Boot Camp held during the Easter holiday.

Kuth Foundation received special recognition award while Philip Ekundayo, KMA administrator was awarded as Best Staff, for his commitment to the KMA Initiative.

The annual event, which had honoured the likes of Prof Pat Utomi in the past is aimed at celebrating those who have stood the test of time and have done well both in marriages and careers.
